Frequently Asked Questions

Weddings

How much do you ask to cover a wedding?

I have different packages starting at R9 000.  I also offer a per hour rate with a minimum of 4 hours.

Do you visit wedding venues beforehand to look for great photo spots?

I will scan a venue on the day of the wedding, but I never scout for locations before the wedding as the weather never remains constant. Any good photographer should be able to cope with any type of weather and light at any venue.

Can you cope when the weather isn’t ideal?

A good photographer should be able to cope in any weather condition. And yes, I can cope. I love a challenge and that creates an opportunity to be creative.

Do you have a second shooter?

I have an assistent who will step in as a second shooter if the need arises.

Are you willing to travel for a wedding?

Yes, I love to travel and visit new locations.

What is the best timeline to cover everything at a wedding?

I prefer to cover the decor first and then the groom while he is getting ready. I will then spend time with the bride. After the ceremony is usually a good time to get the family formals. If your schedule allows for it, I do suggest to spend a bit of time with the guests at pre-drinks. This creates a great opportunity to get some moments captured. Then we are off to capture the newly weds before the big celebration starts.

How do we secure a booking?

You have to sign the contract and pay the deposit in order to secure you booking.

With what type of lighting do you work?

I prefer to work with natural light, but I am also geared to use artificial light when the need arise.

Is it possible to adjust package prices so that it will fit our budget?

Yes

Newborn Portraits

What is the best time of day to take Newborn portraits?

I prefer to use natural light with newborns, so the time depends on the season. However the time is usually between twelve and four in the afternoons.

How long is a newborn session?

A session is usually between two to four hours.

How long after birth is the best time for a newborn session?

As soon sa possible, but usually no later than 7 to 10 days after birth.

Should we bring props for the session?

I do have prop already, but you are welcome to bring anything you would like to ad.

Is there any particular outfits the baby should wear?

Something that is light and easy to remove, the outfit should not leave marks on the baby’s skin. Make sure that the baby is wrapped warmly.

Family Portraits

When is it the best time for a portrait session?

It all depends on your location choice and what the weather is like on the day of the shoot. But preferable location sessions are done closer to sunset.

Should we wear matching clothes?

No, but ensure that the outfits have matching colour schemes. The clothes should not have any branding on and stay away from bright colours, patterns and pictures. Soft natural colours are the best, but pure white should be minimal.
